Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a nursery comes with lots of questions — and that’s completely normal. To help you feel confident and informed, we’ve answered the most common questions parents ask us about Little Owls.

If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, our team is always happy to help.

Applying for a Place

The easiest way to apply is to get in touch through our Contact Us page.
A member of the nursery team will arrange a visit so you can look around, meet the staff and ask any questions.

If you decide Little Owls is right for your child, you’ll complete an application form and return it with a £40 deposit. We’ll then add your child to the waiting list for your chosen start term.

Funding and Fees

Yes. Little Owls accepts:

Working Family Funding (from 9 months for eligible parents)
Two-Year-Old Funding (Hull City Council)
Universal Funding for all 3- and 4-year-olds

If you’re unsure what you can claim, please speak to us — we’ll happily guide you through it.

Session Times and Attendance

Both nurseries offer an Early Bird session from 7.30am to 8.00am, which must be booked in advance.

Drop-off and collection must then be within your booked session times so we can keep the correct staff-to-child ratios and ensure every child’s safety.

What to Bring

Think of it like packing for a day trip. You’ll need:

Nappies
Wipes
Bottles

You will be asked to give general consent when you register. Any outing involving vehicle transport will require a special consent form for that trip.
